"You are the government"
Yesterday, I went to a rally against George W's visit to Tucson. There were a hundred or so
people who gathered in front of the Republican party headquarters to protest various issues that
Dubya has either neglected or opposed such as gay marriage, the environment and the economy.
I think that in times like these Tucson is a cool city because it has so many different interest groups
that know how to organize and can come together and protest an issue that effects everyone.
And besides, a protest always does my liberal, tree-hugging dyke heart good. But don't think that there
weren't people in favor of Bush. As I was leaving, across the street there were four clean-cut youth supporters for Bush. I couldn't help but give the finger to the one holding a sign that said "Abortion kills".
I don't like to be the bigger person all the time.
My favorite sign of the event: "I partied with the Bush twins".
