Surprise

Tonight I attended the surprise birthday party of my brother-in-law who oddly enough turned 70 years old. The event was held in his favorite mexican restaurant, Micha's located in south Tucson. There was tons of food all laid out in a buffet style. Everyone in his and our immediate family was there, eating never ending bowls of chips and salsa and drinking tea and margaritas on plastic green table cloths in the room in the back of the restaurant. It was the first surprise party that I've ever attended and it was exciting and required wearing mascara and my gold psuedo-italian high heels and scattering metallic star-shaped confetti all over the tables. There were also mariachis (or mary-ach-ees depending on wether or not you're a snow bird) playing "Guantanamera" and "The Rose of Spanish Harlem" for the sentimentalists. Good times were had by all.
