This Ain't Fox News Bitches
There are some months that just drag on forever. I haven't even bothered to post here for the
last couple of weeks because compared to the Tsunami and the upcoming Bush coronation, the usual workplace drama seems kind of pointless. Yesderday I watched the Oprah Tsunami special and was fascinated and repelled that it focused on some overly dramatic story of this london family getting rescued by some guy(god bless you Some Guy). The story itself wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't have the usual ispiritainment (inspirational entertainment) vibe to it with all that cheesy music and weepy personal testimonials. To have been a truly sincere story it would have focused on what social and economic aspects the tsunami is having and is going to have on these southeastern Asian countries in the months and years to come. But thats Oprah for you, her programming must only contain enough humanity to make suburban soccer moms cry. Also, I was surprised that there was hardly any coverage or programming about Martin Luther King day. Even the history channel didn't have anything on about it, and they have six hours of programming about Jesus every Easter and twenty documentaries on about Normandy every Pearl Harbor day. As you can tell, my ass was permanently glued to the tv all day.
